Mother's Education is Paid For - Thanks to Obama's Scholarship for Moms Program

Many families that live below the poverty line are single parent households. The overwhelming majority of them are single mothers. The sad fact is that without enough education, many of these women do not ever see how they will break this cycle and begin to provide for their children in a way that would lift them to the middle class. The good news is that Obama has made provisions for single moms to return to school with funds provided by the federal government. Most single mothers should be able to qualify for up to $9,000.00 per year to attend college and further their education.

What can a college degree do for single mothers? Studies show that when a single mom returns to college, she gives her children the hope and ability to reach out for their dreams as well. By being a role model, her children are more apt to pursue higher education as well. This means that more people will become positively contributing members of our society.

There are also practical reasons why you should return to college. You will earn more money. You will be working in the field that you choose. You will have the hours that you would like. That sure beats working for the bare minimum at a job you really don't like.
