Mothers Going Back To School In Record Numbers - Thanks To Obama's 2009 Scholarship For Moms Program

Moms, whatever your reasons for considering pursuing more education - and wherever you may be on that quest - money is available now as never before.  The new programs work on so many levels and all are designed to get America's Moms ready for the new jobs being created.

You probably know that even a two-year, Associates degree greatly improves your total lifetime earnings.  Most studies report an almost half-million dollar increase over a lifetime compared with the earnings of a high school graduate. And the more education you have, the greater the lifetime earnings increase.

You also know that when mothers improve their employment potential they improve not only their own lives.  They add tremendously to their children's lives and to the community as a whole.  Your children learn through you the importance of sacrificing today for a better tomorrow.  You feel more at home offering help in your community.  You and your children benefit from improved health care plans offered with better jobs.

And now all that is easier than ever to achieve by taking advantage of the many programs put in place at the state and national level to encourage people to start school, stay in school or go back to school.  Pell Grants have been increased to $5,500 and tax credits have been raised to $2,500.  Additional programs may further add to the amount for you to use now.

Check with the school you are considering.  Most schools offer lots of information on their web sites about financial aid.  Many also offer links directly to the forms you need to apply for aid, to apply to the school and help in writing the short essay you may be asked to include with your application.

There is so much help available it would be a shame to let the opportunity pass you by to improve your career plans.  The jobs will be there --- workers needed!
